Baked Beans & Bandages

I have ended up in A&E. Darling husband's fault. Yes, as I have said before; he is a whiz in the kitchen. His food is delicious (if we forget the blue omelette); but although he more often than not serves up a storm in the kitchen; the kitchen is also left looking like it, itself, has been in a storm. So, cut a long story short (as it's a very long story and I am now typing one-handed) He left a hot casserole dish lid on the worktop and immediately left the house to pack the car ready to leave for the office. I subsequently entered said kitchen, saw the debris and started to tidy - mistake! The scream brought him running back into the house. I swear childbirth was not as painful (though time heals).  So, after 45 minutes with my hand in a bowl of cold water, then wrapped in clingfilm, I start work at the kitchen table - tap, tap, tap, with my one hand. Embarressing Mum

 28 March 2022 So, Mother's Day was yesterday. It was glorious weather - the sun was out, I wore a T-shirt! This weekend I have worn a T-shirt - no jumper- for the first time in 2022. We had lunch in the garden twice and had the firepit lit in the evening. It feels like summer will be with us soon.  My son was playing rugby. He's an incredible rugby player. My husband had been asked to referee the game; He loves 'ref-ing.' Our boy says he is good at it, brilliant in fact. My daughter, fabulous cook that she is, made a chocolate mousse as a special Mothers' Day treat. It was delicious. It led me to wonder...Son does marvellous things with a rugby ball, my husband with his whistle & my daughter in the kitchen (she gets this off her Dad) - I would say they all have a gift, but what is mine? What am I actually gifted with (apart from them [at times])? Am struggling to think.  I can do housework - as long as there is loud music on and whatever gets done is done in th...
